When the clock strikes midnight and Naples opens its doors on 9 May – the very date that inspired the title of his most famous song – the artist with an unknown identity will make his debut on the big screen with the highly anticipated film ‘Il Segreto Di Liberato’.
On the night between 8 and 9 May, in fact, The Space Cinema in Naples will stage the world premiere of the work that combines documentary with live action and animation to explore the life of the mysterious Neapolitan singer-songwriter.
Directed by Francesco Lettieri and Giorgio Testi, assisted for the animation part by LRNZ and Giuseppe Squillaci, ‘Il Segreto Di Liberato’ is a compelling work steeped in mystery, just like its singular plot:
‘IN NAPLES EVERYONE HAS A SECRET.
EVERY ALLEY, EVERY BUILDING, EVERY WALL HAS ITS MYSTERIES.
THERE IS THE SECRET OF THE MUNACIELLO, THE BELLA ‘MBRIANA, THE BLOOD OF SAN GENNARO, THE STONES OF THE PEDAMENTINA, THE SIREN PARTENOPE, THE EGG UNDER THE CASTLE, THE SECRET OF PULCINELLA…
AND THEN THERE’S MY SECRET.’
