New records for the film Liberato’s secret: in 2 weeks of programming, with 123,599 admissions recorded it is the most-watched event film of 2024, and by far the most-watched Italian film event of the last 4 years.

Produced by Red Private in collaboration with Red Carpet, the first film for the newly-formed distribution Be Water, Liberato’s secret, with a total of 1,080,000 euros grossed, continues its programming in over 50 theatres thanks to Medusa Film, which handled its distribution in cinemas throughout Italy.

Il segreto di Liberato (Liberato’s Secret) is a film by Francesco Lettieri, which combines live and animated images to tell the story of the extraordinary Neapolitan artist with an unknown identity and his imagery, which is both hyper-modern in terms of sound and traditional in terms of the poetics and romanticism he manages to release.

Written by Francesco Lettieri and directed by Francesco Lettieri and Giorgio Testi, the animation was directed by LRNZ and Giuseppe Squillaci who, thanks to Ilbe Animation, availed themselves of the excellent work of over 70 collaborators.

The voices of the animation are Liberato, Simona Tabasco and Nando Paone.
