Vincenzo Nibali was the strongest Italian cyclist of modern times and one of the strongest cyclists at international level, entering history for being one of the seven cyclists in the world to have won all three European Grand Tours, and one of only four to have conquered at least two ‘monumental classics’.
In this cycling journey through natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes around his native Messina, involving friends and family, Nibali retraces his life and his extraordinary victories. And so the trip to Sicily becomes the story of the identity memory of a great cyclist through the words of those who knew him best.
The new Toyota C-HR, already the official car of the Giro d’Italia, accompanied Vincenzo Nibali in the Giro on the roads of Sicily, guaranteeing assistance and safety to the group of cyclists on the roads open to traffic. Thus the Toyota brand, official mobility partner of the Giro d’Italia, was also the protagonist in the documentary ‘Vincenzo Nibali: the 7th champion’, broadcast on RAI 2 on 20 May.
Nibali and Toyota, a pairing born from the idea of uniting two unique winners in a major audiovisual project.
The evening before the broadcast on Rai 2, the documentary was shown free of charge to an audience of insiders and fans right in Livigno, at CineLux, after the alpine stage dominated by the pink jersey Tadej Pogacar, in the presence also of the protagonist of the documentary, Vincenzo Nibali and the many Toyota C-HRs that are part of the official caravan of the Giro.
“Vincenzo Nibali – Il 7° campione”, a Red Carpet production, an ILBE Group company, in collaboration with Rai Documentari and with Vincit Consulting Sagl and A&J All Sports, and with the precious support of Toyota, tells the story of the greatness of a unique athlete, to be remembered for generations. The documentary is a visual, dynamic and cinematographic tale that through breathtaking images, exclusive interviews and direct testimonies will lead into the world of the Italian cyclist, from his childhood to his great victories, recounting the world of cycling from an unprecedented and exciting point of view.
