“ALÉ EUROPE” SERIES PRESENTED TODAY IN BRUSSELS: 12 ITALIAN SPORTS CHAMPIONS TELL ABOUT 12 EUROPEAN PROJECTS

Filmed throughout Italy and available for free on CHILI, the “Alè Europe” series consists of 12 episodes: each one tells, through the voices of Italian sports champions, 12 successful projects carried out thanks to European Union funding in 12 Italian cities.

Presented today in Brussels, in the Cinema Hall of the European Commission headquarters, the series is the first ever project belonging to the entertainment sector to win the European “Call for proposals Support for information measures relating to the EU Choesion Policy”.

Among the stars of the series are Martina Carraro and Fabio Scozzoli (multi-titled swimmers and couple in life), Daniele Cassioli, (the greatest Paralympic water skiing champion of all time), Monica Contrafatto (Paralympic bronze medalist in the 100 meters in Tokyo and military), Marco Di Costanzo (Olympic bronze medal rower), Giorgio Minisini (world champion in artistic swimming), Michela Moioli (Olympic champion snowboarder), Vincenzo Nibali (one of the strongest cycling champions ever), Antonella Palmisano (reigning Olympic champion in the 20 km. of march), Manuel Pasqual (glorious former Fiorentina team captain), Letizia Paternoster (world champion track cyclist), Enza Petrilli (Paralympic silver medalist archer) and Gaia Sabbatini (talented Italian middle-distance champion).

The project was developed with financial support from the European Union. Matteo Salvai, Head of Press & Media of the European Commission, and Francesca Raimondi, Program Manager of the European Commission, also spoke at the conference.
